29 years ago (1968) the Jefferson Blues Magazine was born - that makes it the world's oldest of its kind. The name (now shortened to Jefferson) derives from the legendary Texas bluesman Blind Lemon Jefferson. A few years later (1972) the Scandinavian Blues Association (SBA) was founded to administer Jefferson. Out of the Blue was formed in summer 1994 by singer/songwriter Kevin Thorpe, who in 1993 had won the Best Acoustic Blues Song at the Great British R & B Festival with the song 'Holy Water'.
